Seanna Leath

College: Pomona College Hometown: N. Little Rock, AR

Have you ever traveled somewhere, and instead of noticing someone’s foreign accent-others notice yours?  Hello, my name is Seanna Leath, and I’m a current freshman at Pomona College in Claremont, California.  I’m originally from North Little Rock, Arkansas-almost two thousand miles away!  I have a younger brother, who now wants to live with me in the “Sunshine State”.

For all of my fellow animal lovers, I have a Chinese Water Dragon named Pip and two rats named Mike & Ike, but only Mike & Ike reside in my dorm.

Before leaving for college, I worked as a cashier at a retail store called Steinmart. Balancing a job, school, and extracurricular activities (I love to play volleyball and swim) was definitely a challenge my senior year!

One of the most common questions I’ve been asked is-“Why did you choose to go so far away?!”  Although there are a variety of reasons, a main one is that I felt at home on the campus, which I believe is very important for anyone making the college decision.  I’m hoping to study Neuroscience and Psychology-gearing towards one of those as my major.  I’ve heard that labs are…strenuous…to say the least, but I plan to do my best!  At this early point in the year, I’m still exploring my options for campus involvement, and I plan to “get in where I fit in”!
